General Assembly IV Topic 1:
Addressing the political manipulation of humanitarian aid
Political manipulation of humanitarian aid remains one of the most pressing and complex challenges of the 21st century. Across regions, millions of vulnerable people are denied impartial assistance due to armed conflict, political interests, sanctions, and restrictions imposed by state and non-state actors. While humanitarian aid is governed by the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence under international humanitarian law and the United Nations, these principles are frequently undermined in practice. The weaponization of aid, obstruction of relief operations, and selective distribution of assistance continue to exacerbate humanitarian crises worldwide. Addressing the political manipulation of humanitarian aid is not only a moral imperative, but a prerequisite for protecting human dignity, preserving international stability, and ensuring effective global humanitarian response.

General Assembly IV Topic 2:
Rebuilding trust in international institutions amidst rising nationalism
Declining confidence in international institutions remains one of the most significant challenges of the 21st century. Across the world, rising nationalism, geopolitical rivalries, economic uncertainty, and perceptions of unequal representation have weakened public trust in multilateral organizations. While institutions such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, and other international bodies play a vital role in promoting cooperation, peace, and development, their legitimacy is increasingly questioned by governments and citizens alike. Political polarization, institutional inefficiencies, and growing skepticism toward global governance continue to hinder collective action on shared challenges. Rebuilding trust in international institutions is not only a diplomatic imperative, but a prerequisite for effective international cooperation, global stability, and sustainable development.
General Assembly IV Topic 3:
Addressing the role of media manipulation in destabilizing governments
Media manipulation aimed at destabilizing governments remains one of the most significant security challenges of the 21st century. Across regions, the deliberate spread of disinformation, foreign information operations, coordinated propaganda, and digital influence campaigns have increasingly been used to incite unrest, undermine public confidence, and interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign states. While international law upholds the principles of state sovereignty and non-interference, the rapid expansion of digital media has created new avenues for malicious actors to exploit information for political purposes. The widespread dissemination of false narratives, coordinated online campaigns, and inadequate international cooperation continue to heighten political instability and social disorder. Addressing the role of media manipulation in destabilizing governments is not only a matter of national security, but a prerequisite for preserving state stability, safeguarding sovereignty, and maintaining international peace and security.
