MEET THE 2026 TEAM

Jennie Tan - Student Advisor

Esteemed delegates, honourable chairs and respected members of faculty members,

My name is Jennie Tan, and I am deeply honoured to serve as the Student Advisor for this year’s DISMUN II.

My journey with MUN began at the start of middle school, and since then it has flourished into something far greater than I have ever expected. If I were to describe MUN with 3 words, it would be the following: diplomatic, purposeful and enriching. MUN has been a space where I have learned to speak with purpose and view global issues with a deeper sense of awareness. Most importantly, it has given me a team of driven, hard-working and outstanding individuals - that I am proud to call my team.

Whether you are stepping into the committee room for the first time or returning as an experience delegate, I implore you to debate with curiosity and respect, listening openly even when opinions differ and ponder various issues that are present in our time.

While I regret that I will not be able to attend and see firsthand the energy and insight each of you will contribute, I am confident that DISMUN II will be both an inspiring and memorable experience.

I wish you all a productive and memorable conference this coming October!

Chandana Jelli - Co-Secretary General & Head of Marketing & Design

Honorable directors, distinguished delegates, student officers, and guests,

I am honored to serve as the Co-Secretary-General of DISMUN II. My name is Chandana Jelli. When I first joined MUN in Year 9 three years ago, I did it because my older sister had done it before me, and like many younger siblings, I wanted to be like her. What started as a small effort to be more like her quickly became one of the most important things that happened to me in high school.

I may have joined for a personal reason, but I quickly fell in love with the atmosphere of MUN. The energy of debate, the difficulty of talking about global issues, and the chance to hear different points of view from different viewpoints.

The theme for this year, "House of Cards," reminds us how fragile global systems can be and how quickly they can change if people don't work together and make smart choices. I encourage all delegates to be curious, creative, and ready to debate with a willingness to collaborate.

I am incredibly excited to welcome you all to DISMUN II. I hope this conference will be a great and memorable experience for everyone.

Arnav Chhaparwal - Co-Secretary General & Logistics

Greetings, Delegates!

My name is Arnav Chhaparwal, a Year 12 student at DCSPD, and I am honoured to serve as the Co-Secretary-General for this year’s DISMUN.

My MUN journey began in Year 7 when I participated in my school’s conference for the first time. Since then, I have attended eight conferences across multiple countries, each one offering a new experience shaping my understanding of the world.

To me, MUN is more than just debate - it is a platform that brings together students from different background to collaborate and discuss pressing global issues. Whether it be through sharing your views, listening to others, or stepping outside of your comfort zone, MUN offers every delegate a chance to grow.

This year marks the second DISMUN conference at Dulwich, and we are excited to welcome delegates from different schools to debate, collaborate, and meet other delegates.

To all delegates, chairs, and secretariat members, thank you for the effort and passion you have put into making this conference possible. I hope this year’s DISMUN will be a memorable and rewarding experience for everyone involved.

See you all in October!

Hiroyasu Kato - Deputy Secretary General &
Head of Communications

Greetings esteemed program directors, student officers, and delegates,

My name is Hiroyasu Kato, and it is my greatest honor to serve as Deputy Secretary General for this year’s iteration of DISMUN at Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong.

My MUN journey could be described as hurried but fulfilling. From being an amateur delegate for the first time two years ago to now participating in the making of a conference, I have found myself constantly empowered by my passion for this activity that I’m often regretful of discovering too late in my life. Whether it was the bonds I’ve made, the thrill from impromptu speeches, or the late nights arriving home, I can conclude that I have found myself absolutely enthralled with MUN.

With recent amplifications of geopolitics, we wish that this conference with the theme of “House of Cards”, nudges delegates to balance what they wish to assert with considerations on impact and consequences of their dialogue and diplomacy. The Long Peace and the absence of major international conflict ever in the past six decades ago requires our collective effort in preserving it.

We look forward to seeing you in October!

Runbo Wang - Conference Secretary & Head of Procurement

Greetings, distinguished delegates,

My name is Runbo Wang, a Year 11 student at Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong. I have participated in eight conferences as a delegate and have chaired three, providing me with valuable academic and personal experiences.

In my academic journey, Model United Nations nurtured my strategic thinking and also allowed me to grow a more nuanced perspective on contemporary international affairs. More importantly, it has provided a platform to interact with peers from diverse backgrounds, introducing me to opposing and unique perspectives on the same issue at hand.

Through these experiences, I have grown from merely valuing strong argumentation, but also adaptability, collaboration, traits which are crucial to a diplomat. What I find most compelling about MUN is its unpredictability: each conference presents a distinct set of challenges, and it is through engaging with this constant variation that the most substantive growth occurs.

As we move into this year’s theme, House of Cards, I encourage you to approach debate with awareness of how fragile and contingent power structures can be. What matters is how you position yourself within that complexity, how to build influence, respond to pressure, and maintain credibility.

I hope that during this conference, you will find the same level of engagement and intellectual challenge that I have found in my own MUN journey, whilst making meaningful and long-lasting friendships on the way.

See you in October at DISMUN II.
